INTRODUCTION

Background

In light to the dynamic of public’s awareness on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as one of the means to achieve economical, social and environmental sustainability for the business sector, environment and society at large, Indonesia Business Links (IBL) will host its 2nd International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility in 26 – 27 August 2008 at the Jakarta Convention Centre.

The upcoming two-day conference will feature :

• Opening Ceremony by the Minister for Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia
• Plenary Sessions addressed by keynote speakers (including several international speakers)
• Breakout Sessions in two-day conference  will be inviting experts, corporate representatives and Indonesian Government officer as resources speakers to share and explore ways to building up partnership with stakeholders as the ultimate key for making CSR work
• SR expo showcasing various programs implemented by large as well as medium sized companies and organization partners

This bi-annual conference follows the success of IBL Conference on CSR held in Jakarta back in 2006 that strongly advocated business society to embrace responsible business as a good business practices. The wave of awareness raising on CSR in Indonesia of which IBL plays its significant roles, has reached to a stage where promoting partnership between the public and private sector or better known as Public Private Partnership is expected to contribute for the success of CSR upon its targets. This understanding led IBL to carry PARTNERING WITH STAKEHOLDERS: MAKING CSR WORK as theme of the upcoming International Conference on CSR.
